Steel sheet metal and plate is extremely strong and is produced to last decades. This material is specifically manufactured to be cut and welded into more defined and elaborate products. It is constructed through a compression process that forces multiple steel layers together into one; forming a plate or sheet of steel. Steel plate and carbon steel sheet metal are commonly used to provide bridge support and to strengthen foundations.

At M & K Metals we carry numerous sheet and plate metal product options to fulfill your project requirement needs. Our steel sheet metal and plate are constructed out of the finest raw materials in existence, providing advanced corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength. Our steel sheet plate also provides excellent workability and is available in several different grades and styles.

Steel Sheet Metal & Plate Advantages

Since it is easy to cut, form, and machine, steel sheet plate is an excellent choice for numerous types of construction applications. Steel sheet and plate provides advanced abrasion resistance, so it can be used for the most demanding applications. Steel sheet plate has numerous beneficial qualities, including:
  • Versatility
  • Strength
  • Durability
  • Affordability

Steel Metal Sheet & Plate Options

Steel 4130 Sheet Plate

M & K’s steel 4130 sheet plate provides strength, durability and precision with a high strength-to-weight ratio. Steel 4130 sheet plate also provides excellent weldability and provides stout ductility. This steel sheet plate is considerably stronger and harder than other standard steel grades and is commonly used in construction of commercial and military aircraft.

Corten Steel Plate & Sheet

Also known as weathering steel plate, Corten steel sheet and plate provides excellent corrosion resistance from the elements. In addition, the elevated levels of copper in Corten plate and sheet produces a self-healing characteristic that produces a natural red oxide patina look.

HR Tread Steel Plate

Also known as diamond plating, steel HR tread plate has numerous beneficial qualities including: slip resistance, corrosion resistance, hygienic, protection and aesthetic qualities. This product is generally used for flooring and wall applications.

Cold Rolled 1008 Carbon Steel Sheet Metal & Plate

Cold rolled 1008 carbon steel plate is an economical, general purpose steel grade offering moderate strength and toughness. As a standard grade, 1008 steel is used in many common, low-stress applications, with excellent weldability and brazeability aspects.

Galvanized & Electro-Galvanized Steel Plate

Steel sheet and plate that has been galvanized or electro-galvanized possesses extreme corrosion resistance due to the added layer of zinc that bonds to the steel. This sacrificial zinc layer protects the steel from rust and corrosion. Within the electro-galvanization process an electrical charge is introduced during the application process.

Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Metal & Plate

Hot rolled steel is manufactured at temperatures that exceed 1700° F, which allows the steel to be easily shaped and formed. When the steel cools off it will shrink slightly thus giving less control on the size and shape of the finished product when compared to the cold rolled process.
